Celebrating Earth Day's 45th Anniversary in Kansas City
Although Earth Day is officially April 22nd, you can get in part of the Earth Day events starting the 18th of April.
April 18th:
National Parks - April 18th through April 26th you can get in free in any of the National Parks. The national parks around Kansas City are Fort Scott (Fort Scott, KS), the Brown vs. Board of Education (Topeka, KS) and the Harry S Truman Library (Independence, MO). Whole Foods on Metcalf - Share the Buzz: Compost Giveaway from 10:00 to around noon, Free
Wildlife in Swope Park at the Nature Center - Kid activities from 10-3. Free
Earth Day at the Deanna Rose Farmstead - Earth Day activities from 10-2. Free with Admission
Earth Day in Science City - From 11-2 join Science City with various activities and demonstrations.
April 20th:
3rd Annual Pub and Pedal for Earth Day - Meet up at 12:00 at the Weatport Flea Market and the ride departs at 2:00.
April 21st:
Pottery Barn Kids in Leawood - Plant it for the Planet - 11:00 am
April 22nd:
Earth Day at Powell Gardens - Learn about gardening. Activities for kids. 9-3. Free
Earth Day Storytime at the Barnes and Noble Center in Leawood - Stories and Activities for the kids at 10:00 am. Free
Earth Day Recycling Event - from 9-1 bring items to recycle to the Sprint Center
April 25th:
Earth Day Celebration in Gardner, Kansas - Enjoy a bbq, tree planting and more. 11-1. RSVP
